*Far-right activist Laura Loomer ignited a firestorm of controversy on social media with a racist post on X, targeting Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett.
As Vibe reports, the attack stemmed from Crockett’s appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” where she criticized a House resolution honoring conservative figure Charlie Kirk. Loomer’s post read, “It hurts my heart that we have ghetto black b**ches who hate America serving in Congress.”
Crockett, speaking on CNN, expressed her dismay over the resolution, stating, “The rhetoric that Charlie Kirk continuously put out there was rhetoric that specifically targeted people of color. It is unfortunate that even our colleagues could not see how harmful his rhetoric was, specifically to [people of color].” She admitted feeling “hurt” that only two white House representatives opposed the resolution. Her comments prompted Loomer’s inflammatory response, escalating tensions online.
Journalist Jemele Hill clapped back at Loomer’s remarks with sarcasm, writing, “I’m sure this was totally taken out of context.” Loomer, unapologetic, responded, “I meant every word, actually.” Hill challenged her further, replying, “Oh I know you did. Let’s see if you can keep that same energy if you see the Congresswoman in person.”
On Friday, the House passed a resolution honoring the “life and legacy” of Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, with 58 Democrats voting against it. Crockett opposed the resolution, citing Kirk’s prior attacks on her, including calling her a “circus act” and claiming she was part of the “great replacement of white people.”
“If there was any way I was gonna honor somebody who decided that they were going to negatively talk about me… Yeah, I’m not honoring that kind of stuff, especially as a civil rights attorney”, Crockett said on CNN.
