*Kim Kardashian has opened up about her ongoing mission to become a lawyer, sharing that she didn’t pass the California bar exam on her latest attempt.
As TMZ reports, she revealed the news on Instagram before the results went public, explaining she wanted to stay transparent with the people who’ve followed her progress. In her post, she reminded fans she’s not a licensed attorney yet, joking that she plays one on her new TV series “All’s Fair.”
Kardashian said she’s now six years into this commitment and intends to keep studying without “shortcuts” or stepping away from the challenge. She thanked supporters and wrote, “Falling short isn’t failure – it’s fuel. I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivates me even more.”

“Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar,” Kardashian wrote. “No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination.”
The reality star noted back in 2019 that she never finished college. Her bar exam journey began when she registered for California’s apprenticeship path, which requires years of work under a lawyer or judge rather than a traditional law degree. The program demands consistent study and monthly exams. Kardashian eventually passed the “baby bar” in 2021 after three tries.
She has advocated for numerous incarcerated people, including Alice Marie Johnson, whose life sentence for a nonviolent drug offense was commuted after Kardashian brought the case to public attention and to President Donald Trump. Kardashian has also campaigned for Lyle and Erik Menendez, writing last year that their case is “more complex than it appears on the surface” and that “the exclusion of crucial abuse evidence” undermined the fairness of their second trial. The brothers were recently denied parole.
The mother of four highlighted broader issues with incarceration in the 2020 docuseries “Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project.”
