*The year 2026 is shaping up to be a great one for Keith David. Not only will the three-time Emmy-winning actor turn 70, but he will also receive a star from being inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Voicing his reaction to getting the honor, David is captured on video becoming emotional after watching the list of inductees being read and realizing his name was mentioned.
“What a surprise! Being blessed to get to do this for a living is enough for me; to be recognized for my contribution to the arts is the cherry on top,” the “Dead Presidents” star, who appeared in complete shock and put his hand over his mouth, then heart, wrote on X.
“Thank you, Hollywood Walk of Fame & Hollywood Chamber for this honor. This will be a wonderful birthday present next year.”
As he takes in the recognition, The Independent noted a voice off-screen acknowledging David’s born day, telling him, “Happy 70th birthday.”

Gaming-wise, the acting veteran, has lent his talents to popular video game series that include “Halo,” “Saints Row” and Mass Effect.” In 2024, David took on the role of Commander Zavala in “Destiny 2,” replacing Lance Reddick, who voiced the character until his death in 2023.
