*Jonathan Majors recently sat down with Complex to discuss newly surfaced audio obtained by Rolling Stone, in which he appeared to admit to having “aggressed” his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, during a 2022 altercation.
The recording features Majors expressing remorse about an incident that occurred while filming “Loki” Season 2 in London. In the audio, he initially states, “I’m ashamed I’ve ever—,” before stopping himself and adding, “I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman—I aggressed you.” Jabbari interjects, accusing him of strangling her and pushing her against a car. Majors responds, “Yes, all those things are under ‘aggressed,’ yeah.”
When questioned about the audio, Majors declined to provide specifics, instead emphasizing the personal work he has done since the incident. “I was so grateful that I had done my work, you know? And I’m continuing to do my work,” he told Complex.
“Because, I mean, I can’t speak to it. But obviously—because you’re talking about it. There were vibrations, you know? Reverberations. Same as everything before, you know? But I was just—I was happy I’d done my work, you know? I was happy I had done my work,” he continued.
Majors was sentenced to a 52-week domestic violence intervention program after being found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment. His conviction led Marvel Studios to cut ties with him and remove him from his role as Kang the Conqueror in future projects. Despite this setback, he remains reflective and focused on personal growth.

Majors’ Letter to Marvel
In the aftermath of his dismissal from Marvel Studios, Majors took the step of writing a personal letter to Marvel President Kevin Feige. While he did not disclose the full contents of the letter, he told Variety that it was an expression of gratitude rather than a plea for reinstatement.
“I just appreciate him. I just love him. I loved my time at Marvel, and I still love Kang. I’m watching them. I see what they’re doing and I’m pulling for them,” he shared.
Majors acknowledged the reality of his situation, understanding that Marvel, as a publicly traded company, had to make a business decision regarding his role.
“It’s not in my control. I see it clearly. I understand – it’s a publicly traded company. You’re trying to do this; you can’t have this [controversy] around. That’s what happens when this happens. I don’t hold it against them. I want to make that very clear. I’m not upset with anybody about that. I’m not upset at all,” he stated.

Navigating Public Perception and the Role of Black Women
In his interview with Variety, Majors directly addressed how Black women have responded to his legal troubles, acknowledging skepticism from some. When asked how they have received him since the trial, he turned the question back on the interviewer:
“We’re gonna talk straight, right? How do you receive me, as a Black woman?”
The interviewer responded candidly, expressing uncertainty about how to reconcile what she had heard in the Rolling Stone audio with her past interactions with him. “I have questions. It’s hard to reconcile what I’ve heard and seen—even today, when I listened to the Rolling Stone audio—with how you behaved with me in past interactions. I’m unsure what to believe about the type of person you are.”
Majors acknowledged this skepticism, stating: “Well, I reckon the rest of the sisters are in the same boat.”
The Future: Magazine Dreams and Potential Career Revival
Majors is currently promoting “Magazine Dreams,” a drama directed by Elijah Bynum. In the film, he portrays Killian Maddox, an aspiring bodybuilder navigating personal demons. The project, which has been met with critical acclaim, marks his first major release since the scandal.
As for his potential return to Hollywood’s biggest franchises, Majors remains open. Michael B. Jordan has expressed interest in making “Creed IV” with him, and Majors has left the door open for Marvel should they reconsider.
“If they need me, they know where I’m at,” he said.
