Hertz
*Hertz has dropped the price on one of its most unusual used car offerings — the Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT-H — with prices now landing between $40,085 and $40,999, a sharp reduction from the $60,000-plus range when Hertz debuted them in 2024, according to Gear Patrol.
Despite being retired rentals, these vehicles show surprisingly little wear. The highest-mileage example in the current inventory sits at 15,153 miles, and some have covered fewer than 3,300. More than 30 examples are currently listed in Hertz’s used car inventory.
Built exclusively for Hertz, each GT-H received a distinctive package that included gold stripes, forged wheels, carbon fiber accents, and a Borla audio system calibrated to produce a sound reminiscent of a V8 engine. Shelby left the electric drivetrain untouched, meaning all 480 horsepower carried over from the standard GT — but production was capped at roughly 100 vehicles total.

The GT-H also carries the weight of a storied partnership. The collaboration began in 1965, when Hertz and Shelby American introduced the GT350-H through the Rent-a-Racer program, offering a purpose-built performance Mustang to everyday drivers for $17 a day plus 17 cents per mile. Those original cars eventually became collectibles.
The two companies returned to the formula with the 2006 Shelby GT-H Mustang, then marked the partnership’s 50th anniversary with the 2016 Mustang GT-H — a run of just 140 vehicles that has since performed well at resale. Whether the electric, crossover-bodied Mach-E GT-H will follow the same trajectory remains to be seen. For now, the combination of Shelby heritage, low mileage, and a sharply reduced asking price makes it one of the more compelling used car deals on the market.
