*Drea Dominique has been putting in the work for five years, and the world is finally catching up. Known to many as a cast member on “Bad Girls Club,” the artist has spent years building something far more personal than a television moment. Her new single “Lue Viton” is a smooth Latin-infused dance track that is quickly finding its audience, and it is only the beginning of what she has planned.
The song came together almost by accident. Drea showed up to the studio expecting to record something else entirely. “My producer was like… I made this beat, check it out,” she recalled. “As soon as he turned it on, I heard it: I like Chanel and Louis Vuitton…” The result is an unapologetically fun track built for the girls. “It’s about designer, and being flossy and bossy with the girls,” she said. “It’s a good time.”
Behind the music is a business structure that gives Drea something most artists never get: full ownership. She runs her career under Bless Beyond Entertainment, a family-owned indie label she founded with her mother. “Everything goes through her,” Drea said. “She makes sure she weeds out the sharks and the wolves for me and knocks on the doors that I need knocked on.” That kind of trust, she said, is hard to put a price on.
The indie setup also means Drea answers to her own creative instincts. She acknowledged that major label deals often come with strings attached. “When you get a major, you have to dance how they want you to dance,” she said. “It’s nice to be able to be creatively free however I want to be.” That freedom is reflected in the range of music she is now releasing.

“Bad Girls Club” gave Drea a large platform, but it also came with a label she has been working to shake ever since. “Being a part of something like ‘Bad Girls Club’ already gets you typecast,” she said. “They assume you’re this drama, you want to be fighting.” She said the reality could not be further from the truth. “I usually lead with peace and love,” she said. “I don’t want to be seen as Drea from ‘Bad Girls Club’ because I’m so much more than that.”
Part of that larger identity includes her commitment to mental health awareness and advocacy for the autism community. Drea’s daughter is on the spectrum, and the experience has shaped how she moves through the world and through her art. “Having a child that has special needs definitely shapes you to be more understanding, compassionate, and patient,” she said. “You never know who you’re coming across or what people are dealing with behind closed doors. So we always have to try to embrace people with love.”
That emotional depth pours directly into her upcoming project. Her debut album, “Romantic Tragedies,” drops July 4th at midnight and marks a full departure from the energy of “Lue Viton.”
“It’s all R&B. No turn up or anything like that,” she said. “It’s very much love and heartbreak and experience. More to the heart, more from the heart kind of stuff.” A release party is set for July 3rd in Miami for fans who want to celebrate in person.
Drea said she believes her willingness to sing about love is what sets her apart in today’s music landscape. “Nobody’s really singing about love anymore,” she said. “I’m singing about love. God will bless whatever is genuine and sincere.” When asked what she hopes listeners take away from the album, her answer was simple and direct. “I just want them to feel it,” she said. “Maybe it even brings a tear to your eyes. I just want them to feel something authentic.”
For aspiring artists watching her rise, Drea’s message is equally straightforward. “Stay consistent. No matter how many times they tell you no, just keep going,” she said. “Be you. If it comes from the heart, the right people will find it when it’s time.”
