*Fifteen years after stepping away from the spotlight, Clipse is back with “Let God Sort Em Out,” debuting at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 with 118,000 album-equivalent units.
As Billboard reports, the Thornton brothers, Pusha T and Malice, used the hiatus to evolve in separate directions. Malice sought spiritual healing after leaving the group in 2010, while Pusha T built a solo legacy. The death of their parents, just six months apart in 2021 and 2022, bonded them anew and deeply influenced the album’s tone.
Their reunion project required a guiding hand, and that came in the form of Pharrell Williams. Returning as producer for the entire set, Williams recaptured the sharpness and texture of the duo’s early classics. The album also features elite collaborators, including Nas on “Let God Sort Em Out / Chandeliers,” Kendrick Lamar on “Chains & Whips,” and Tyler, The Creator on “P.O.V.”
For their rollout strategy, the brothers tapped into modern platforms such as GQ, Complex, Tiny Desk, Colors, The Breakfast Club—and podcasted with Joe Budden, Elliott Wilson, and B. Dot.

The album’s No. 1 debut on Billboard’s Independent Albums and Vinyl Albums charts underscores Clipse’s enduring relevance. “We’re not into existing in rap, it has to be revolutionary,” Malice told Billboard.
“I think the album shows the supreme maturation of a rap duo,” Pusha T said in an interview with Vulture. “I think this is where you get the difference between taste and filler. This music is curated. This is a high-taste-level piece of work. You can only have that level of taste when you have the fundamentals down to a science.”
“This is smart basketball. It’s fundamentals.” Malice added. “And not only that, it’s authenticity. It’s what rap should look like if you’re real about your craft, real about your experience, real about your storytelling. It’s bringing the fans along to see the growth, not trying to fit in or fabricate.”
