*American hurdler Chris Robinson faced an unexpected challenge during the 400-meter hurdles at the Ostrava Golden Spike meet in Czechia on Tuesday — a wardrobe malfunction that left him fully exposed on live television.
According to the New York Post reports, as he raced down the track, Robinson realized his shorts had failed him, and his private parts were visibly out. He made several attempts to adjust his gear while maintaining his pace, but when that proved impossible, he pushed through the embarrassment and focused on one thing: winning.
Robinson crossed the finish line first with a time of 48.05 seconds, just 0.10 seconds shy of his personal best. Brazil’s Matheus Lima nearly overtook him in the final stretch as Robinson briefly struggled with the malfunction, but the 24-year-old held on to claim victory by a razor-thin margin of 0.06 seconds.
After crossing the line, Robinson tumbled forward onto the track in exhaustion and disbelief, then got up smiling and shaking his head at what had just occurred.
A few hours after securing his win at the Ostrava Golden Spike meet, Robinson took to Instagram to reassure his supporters. Posting to his stories, the 24-year-old athlete shared a series of photos showing small bandages on his forehead and assured fans of his condition. “Thanks to everyone who checked in, we’re all good #greatnessiscoming,” he wrote.

Robinson’s 2025 season has been nothing short of impressive. As Sportskeeda reports, he earned podium spots in Grand Slam Track events across Kingston, Philadelphia, and Miami.
Additionally, he contributed to the U.S. national team’s victory in the Mixed 4x400m relay at the international meet in Guangzhou.
Reflecting on his recent performance in Miami, where he claimed second place in both the 400m hurdles and 400m dash, Robinson emphasized his mindset on continual self-improvement. Speaking with Citius Meg, he explained, “I just want to be the better than me, just be the best me, every time I step on the track.”
Well, this was awkward.
?? Chris Robinson had to deal with his privates constantly coming out of their holder at today’s 400m hurdles in Ostrava.
Clearly slowed him down a bit — but he still won in a SB of 48.05!
Competition wasn’t stiff, obvz. https://t.co/jpdBHCFz0Z
