*Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts may have secured a $255 million contract in 2023, but he’s allegedly maintaining a modest lifestyle.
According to Page Six, Hurts continues to rent a $2,000-a-month apartment in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, a short drive from Philadelphia. Since being drafted in 2020, the star athlete has allegedly opted for renting over buying, prioritizing financial simplicity even as his earnings skyrocketed.
“I didn’t buy a house or anything like that when I got drafted because it was just me,” he said in a 2021 interview with GQ Sports.
“I didn’t need this big place just for myself. I just got me a little apartment. You know, something smooth that’ll last me for the time being.”
The 26-year-old has reportedly been making strategic real estate moves, particularly in his hometown of Humble, Texas.

He purchased homes for both of his parents before investing in his own property in 2023. He reportedly spent $6 million on a 6,000-square-foot estate near Houston, just five miles from where he grew up. The luxurious six-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion sits on a sprawling 10-acre lot and includes a large swimming pool. The NFL star also acquired the neighboring property for an additional $2.68 million.
Meanwhile, fresh off leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a 40-22 Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs, Hurts who was named Super Bowl MVP, described the experience as “a huge blessing” during an interview with CBS Mornings.
“I know that without a lot of hard work, a lot of effort, a lot of time, you don’t get here,” Hurts said.
“It’s something that I kind of transformed into and mentally I got to that place with the different experiences that I experience and I think I always placed a high priority on improving and just being the best I can be,” he said.
“I never put a ceiling on myself or a limit to what I could do or accomplish, it’s just more so just being the best I could be in that moment.”
The Eagles lost to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl just two years ago.
Hurts said, “I just think all of those things we endured as a group, everybody took it personally and took it upon themselves to put their best foot forward and have the right focus so we could finish it the right way.”
