*Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team has requested a two-month delay for his federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial, citing delayed access to critical evidence and new charges.
Filed on April 16, the motion claims prosecutors have not provided essential discovery materials, particularly for a charge with a 15-year mandatory minimum sentence, according to Vibe.
“The government opposes our proposed reasonable adjournment request,” the motion reads, “even though it is still producing discovery… and has indicated, over our objection, that it will not produce the exhibits and witness list due today.”
Combs’ attorneys claim it’s impossible to be trial-ready by the scheduled May 5 jury selection and May 12 opening statements.
The request follows a superseding indictment issued earlier this month, which has further complicated preparations. While the presiding judge has not yet granted the delay, a hearing to address the matter is set for April 18. Until then, the court ordered both parties to proceed with their current disclosure obligations, including the contentious evidence tied to “Victim-4.”

Meanwhile, Diddy is maintaining his innocence in his ongoing sex crimes case and has pleaded not guilty to two new federal charges: sex trafficking and transporting someone for prostitution.
As TMZ reports, these charges were added in a new indictment, making it the third so far in the case. The allegations, tied to events from 2021 to 2024, involve someone identified only as “Victim-2.” The disgraced music producer now faces five criminal charges in total, including racketeering, and has denied all of them. His legal team says the alleged victims are former partners, with one believed to be Cassie Ventura.
We reported earlier that Cassie is set to take the stand in Combs’ upcoming trial, opting to testify under her name rather than anonymously.
The Bad Boy Records founder, who was arrested in September 2024 following raids on his properties in Los Angeles and Miami, is currently being held at MDC Brooklyn.
