*Whoopi Goldberg has responded to criticism about the Oscars shutting out “Barbie” actress Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig from nominations this year.

Ryan Gosling (nominated for playing “Ken” in the movie) reacted to the snub, as did former US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton.

Gosling addressed the issue in a letter calling out the Academy committee, writing in part,  “There is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally-celebrated film. No recognition would be possible for anyone on the film without their talent, grit, and genius.”

Clinton expressed a similar view on X, in a tweet that read: “Greta & Margot, while it can sting to win the box office but not take home the gold, your millions of fans love you. You’re both so much more than Kenough. #HillaryBarbie.”

Meanwhile, in the latest episode of “The View,” Goldberg slammed the outrage towards the Oscars committee.

“Here’s the deal: everybody doesn’t win,” she explained to her co-hosts.

“They’re not snubs, and that’s what I want to sort of point out. It’s not the elites; it’s the entire family of the Academy Awards who vote for Best Picture nominations, okay? We all vote for Best Picture, everybody,” Goldberg continued. “So there are seven to ten nominations that happen, and you don’t get everything that you want to get.”

When her co-hosts also noted that Ava DuVernay’s “Origin” was also “snubbed,” Goldberg said, “So it happens.”

“There are no snubs. That’s what you have to keep in mind. Not everybody gets a prize, and it is subjective. Movies are subjective. The movies you love may not be loved by the people who are voting.”

Barbie received eight Oscar nominations, including for Best Picture. Gosling was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, and America Ferrera for Best Supporting Actress. The film is also nominated for best-adapted screenplay, Costume Design, and Production Design.
