*Most people can think back to the car they wanted as a kid. Nick Cannon can think of a few! However, we usually don’t think to learn of the best-selling car from the year we were born.
Ahead of the release of his new reality TV series “Nick Cannon’s Big Drive,” we sat down with the car enthusiast. He opened up about the different cars he considered his favorites as a child.
“First it was probably a fire truck,” he said. Cannon delved a bit deeper into his early fascinations. “I always was fascinated with like, Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s. And then I liked big vehicles, like monster trucks.
Nick added: “Literally…what I drive day to day is like a big, giant truck, off-road style. So, I’ve always had a fascination for big vehicles.”
During this new series, Cannon will share his love for cars with his audience. The show will feature A-list celebrity friends as they coast through scenic routes and converse about collecting and rebuilding automobiles.
What exactly was the best-selling car in 1980, the year Cannon was born?
The answer…an Oldsmobile Cutlass that sold over 469,000 units, according to Car and Driver. When asked if he has one, Cannon stated, “I do have a Cutlass, but it’s not done yet…I have a shell of a Cutlass. That’s the old school gangsta vehicle. If you got a clean Cutlass, you know what to do with it. Yeah, I love those cars!”
After a new boost of motivation to complete his Cutlass, Cannon shared what he hopes viewers take away from watching his new show. He believes “Big Drive” will be an inspiration.
“We wanna know what drives you. We wanna know what big dreams you have. We wanna know if you really are about that do-it-big life, and really just all gas, no brakes.”
