*We caught up with “Night Court” actor Nyambi Nyambi to discuss Season 2 of the NBC comedy series.

Melissa Rauch and John Larroquette lead the cast in the rebooted classic “Night Court,” which debuted in January 2023. Now well into its second season, with only a few episodes left, Nyambi told EUR in an exclusive interview that he’s a longtime fan of the original series, so starring in the reboot is a dream come true.

Speaking to NBC Insider about the reboot and her character Abby’s journey in Season 2, Rauch said, “The first season we had a little bit more country mouse vibes from Abby as she was experiencing New York for the first time. I think she’s got a little bit more savviness to her this year…She’s trying now to figure out what she wants wants herself, so it’s the fun and games of seeing Abby try that on for the first time.”

Larroquette, who reprises his role of Dan Fielding from the original, told TV Insider, “Let me really be honest, I am 40 years older than when I began that part, so getting in his shoes was difficult because my feet are swollen. Luckily, I had Melissa to play against, and it fell into place easily.”

Nyambi, known for “Mike & Molly” and “The Good Fight,” portrays a divorced father named Wyatt Shaw in the series. In our exclusive interview below, he shared amusing insight into his character and gushed about working alongside Larroquette.

“Having John Larroquette on the show… he is the bridge, of course, from the original. And having watched all nine seasons of the original … GENIUS! He’s a genius. Being able to watch him do his thing on this show is genius! I stare at him, hoping that some of that genius will somehow transfer over to me,” Nyambi told EURweb.com.

In a prior interview with ScreenRant, the actor shared his excitement about being part of the stellar “Nigth Court” cast.

“Everyone has been so generous in receiving me. I felt like I hit the ground running. I was trying to come up with a joke about that, but, literally, that’s it. I hit the ground running,” Nyambi said.

“It was great. It was amazing. Everyone was so nice. Everyone was so generous. Everyone was so welcoming. I was like, “What do you all want?” But all they wanted was for me to feel like I was at home, and I felt like that from day one.”

Watch our entire conversation with Nyambi Nyambi below and tune in to “Nigth Court” on Tuesdays on NBC. Catch up on Seasons 1 and 2 on Peacock.
