*“Mufasa: The Lion King” stars Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and Tiffany Boone talk about imposter syndrome and soundtrack skips. WATCH the full interview below or here!
Q: At this stage in your careers, do you still have imposter syndrome that creeps into your mind?
KHJ: I just sit in it. I make a lot of jokes and distract everybody from it…I was like, if I just start to fake it until I make it, in those situations, I wonder if I’ll start to believe it. So that’s my new tool.
AP: Walk in faith. I really try to lean into that heavily because it brings me a lot of peace.
TB: Pray! No, it’s every day. Getting ready to come here today, I was like, ‘These people really decided to put me in this movie?!’ I don’t think God would put us in this situation if we couldn’t handle it. And so that’s what I have to tell myself. This morning when I was tired and getting my face beat. I was like, ‘You can do it. You’re here for a reason. You can do it today!’
Q: Which song from the film has stuck with after filming?
TB: I Always Wanted A Brother!
KHJ: That’s the one! That’s the banger! No skips on the album, but that’s the banger!
AP: Yeah, Lin-Manuel Miranda doesn’t do albums that you skip. There are no skips, ever!

REVIEW: Mufasa is a well-crafted film from the lion’s beautifully warm soft hair follicles to the catchy Brothers’ tune to the inspiring script. Plus, Rafiki is the spirit guide we all need!
Mufasa opens exclusively in movie theaters everywhere on December 20th.
