*The man who was captured on viral video attacking a female judge in Nevada was sentenced this week by the same judge for a separate battery case.

Clark County Judge Mary Kay Holthus sentenced 30-year-old Deobra Redden to 19 months to four years in prison after he was charged with attempted battery with substantial bodily harm, CNN reports.

We reported previously that Judge Holthus was attacked in the courtroom during a sentencing hearing on Jan. 3. Redden managed to jump high over the judge’s bench to assault Holthus after she denied his bail and began to sentence him to jail. But before she could finish, Redden rushes towards her, jumps over her bench, and attacks her.

The judge falls to the ground, and district court Marshalls jump in to try and stop Redden. They struggle to contain him for a few seconds before the video ends.

Holthus said she planned to impose the same prison sentence of 19-48 months in prison before Redden’s aggressive confrontation in court last week.

“When we were last here, arguments were concluded and the court had begun to pronounce sentence when an incident occurred, an incident initiated by Mr. Redden, preventing the court from completing the sentencing,” Holthus said. “Any other issues that may arise from the events that occurred last Wednesday will be handled at a future date by a different court.”

Per CNN, “Redden was charged with seven counts of battery on a protected person and battery in connection with last week’s attack,” the outlet writes.

Redden’s defense attorney says that his client has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

According to TMZ, Redden is facing 13 charges in connection with the attack on the judge.
