*Garcelle Beauvais is making a strong push for voter engagement as the upcoming presidential election approaches. The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star recently stopped by Craig’s in Los Angeles, where she emphasized the importance of getting out to vote, specifically targeting Black men
Beauvais feels they need to show their support for Vice President Kamala Harris. Beauvais described the current political climate as “risky,” given the tightly contested race between Harris and former President Donald Trump. In her candid conversation with reporters, Garcelle expressed her concerns that Harris is struggling to resonate with Black male voters, urging them to participate in the election on November 5, TMZ reports.
“This election is too close, and we need to hit the voting booths,” she emphasized, highlighting the critical nature of this election cycle for the Democratic ticket.
Garcelle is not alone in her advocacy; other Hollywood heavyweights such as Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, John Legend, and Michelle Obama have also rallied around Harris, urging their fans to lend their support.
Beauvais’ comments come on the heels of former President Barack Obama’s remarks during a campaign tour in Pittsburgh, where he also called on Black men to rally behind Harris. Obama noted that he had been hearing reports of lower enthusiasm within this demographic and that some Black men were contemplating abstaining from voting altogether.
“Part of it makes me think — and I’m speaking to men directly — part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives, and other reasons for that,” Obama said.
In a powerful critique, Obama questioned the notion that supporting a candidate like Trump, who has a history of derogatory comments and actions towards women, is a sign of strength.
“That’s not acceptable,” he stated, urging men to reflect on their choices and support a leader who stands for inclusivity and progress rather than division.
As the election draws near, key figures like Garcelle Beauvais and Barack Obama are emphasizing the importance of civic engagement and the need for voters to make their voices heard. With early voting underway and Election Day rapidly approaching, the call to action is becoming increasingly urgent for both the Democratic Party and its supporters.
The momentum built by celebrities and former leaders could make a significant impact on voter turnout, particularly in pivotal swing states where every vote counts.
