*The saga of O.J. Simpson and the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman continues, as information surfaces involving the former NFL star confessing to the crime.
Citing CNN Newsource, KTVZ reports the Los Angeles Police Department has obtained a new lead in the case in the form of Iroc Avelli. Avelli, who claims to be a former bodyguard for Simpson, was arrested for assault in Bloomington, Minnesota in 2022.
During the arrest, a “backpack which contained media thumb drives” was retrieved by Bloomington police.
Two years later, LA police come forward this summer to reveal claims made by Avelli and his attorney, who say the thumb drives had “a recording of O.J. Simpson confessing to the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman.”
Avelli’s attorney argued in court that the drives contained “very sensitive, delicate information which shouldn’t be in the public, period.”
Despite his claims, a full forensics investigation of the thumb drives by Bloomington detectives “did not locate any information of evidentiary value for the Los Angeles Police Department.”
Avelli was found not competent in his assault case, KTVZ noted.
