*Erica Mena publicly apologized to Nicki Minaj, admitting she was influenced by their mutual ex, Safaree Samuels, to speak negatively about the rap star.
Mena appeared on the Dumb Blonde podcast and explained that Safaree frequently criticized Minaj during their marriage and shared videos portraying the artist negatively, Vibe reports.
“I owe her the biggest apology,” she stated. “It’s funny how life comes full circle. Because the same thing he did to her, he’s doing to me years later.”
Mena admitted she wasn’t initially bothered by Safaree dissing Nicki until she realized he was attempting to damage Minaj’s career and claim credit for her success.
“I owe this woman an apology,” the mom-of-two admitted. “I sat here and allowed him to talk about her to me. From that came me saying things, defending him, and speaking about her in a tacky way. At the end of the day, I didn’t know the truth.”

She also addressed her previous harsh remarks about Minaj, including calling her music “cartoony” and accusing her of copying Lil’ Kim.
As of now, Nicki has not responded to Mena’s apology.
Mena, who shares a daughter and a son with Samuels, previously hit up social media to express regret about her relationship with Safaree. Per Vibe, she wrote on Instagram, “I will FOREVER be embarrassed I gave sis these incredible beautiful babies. He don’t even talk or care about his seeds this much online or in real life.”
