*Elon Musk reacted to a tweet Tuesday about the IQ levels of graduates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

The billionaire tech mogul endorsed a tweet suggesting HBCU students shouldn’t become pilots. His stance is linked to a United Airlines program that gives students at three historically Black universities – Hampton University in Virginia, Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina, and Delaware State University, the opportunity to train at the United Aviate Academy

In order to diversify the airline’s flight crew, the program aims to increase the pipeline of Black pilots.

On X/Twitter, user @eyeslasho noted that the United program is dangerous, writing: “The mean IQ of grads from two of those United Airline HBCU ‘partners’ is about 85 to 90, based on the average SATs at those schools. (The SAT correlates reasonably well with IQ.),” @eyeslasho wrote. “The HBCU IQ averages are within 10 points of the threshold for what is considered ‘borderline intellectual impairment.’”

The user added, “I’ll add that IQ is a well-studied and well-known predictor of job performance, especially for quick-processing and mentally-demanding occupations like major airline pilot,” @eyelasho said.

“It will take an airplane crashing and killing hundreds of people for them to change this crazy policy,” Musk responded, referring to Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

We reported previously that Musk has been sparring with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban over their differing positions on DEI in the workforce.

As Forbes reports, Musk called the fellow billionaire a “racist” in a series of tweets on X/Twitter, for Cuban’s public support of DEI programs.

Musk suggests Cuban’s approval of DEI in the workforce is due to his “ridiculous overcompensation regarding racism” and “if mental gymnastics were an Olympic sport, Mark Cuban would be a perfect 10.”

The Tesla CEO also proposed a UFC-style cage match between himself and Cuban.

“Discrimination on the basis of race, which DEI does, is literally the definition of racism,” Musk, the owner of X, noted on the platform.
