Dolly Parton Praises Beyoncé for Topping Country Music Chart

*Country music icon Dolly Parton hit up Instagram to praise Beyoncé for tapping into the genre. 

On Thursday, Parton took to Instagram to congratulate Bey after the singer’s new song “Texas Hold ‘Em” debuted in the top spot of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart on Tuesday, Marking her first-ever No. 1 single on the country charts, CNN reported.

Per the outlet, Beyoncé’s other new country song, “16 Carriages,” ranks No. 9 on the chart.

“I’m a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s done a country album,” Dolly wrote. “So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can’t wait to hear the full album!”

In 2022, Parton appeared on “The Daily Show” and shared her hope that Queen Bey would cover her song “Jolene.”

“I don’t know if she’s even got the message, but wouldn’t that be killer? I think she’s fantastic and beautiful and I love her music,” Parton said, per USA Today via Complex.

“I would just love to hear ‘Jolene’ done in just a big way, kind of like how Whitney did my ‘I Will Always Love You,’” she continued. “Someone that can take my little songs and make ’em like powerhouses. So, that would be a marvelous day in my life if she ever does do ‘Jolene.’”

Bey’s two new country tracks appear on her eighth solo studio album, “Renaissance Act II,” out March 29.
