*Janet Jackson sparked controversy when she questioned the racial identity of Vice President Kamala Harris.
As we reported earlier, her remarks were published Saturday by The Guardian when the interviewer asked Jackson’s view of Harris who could be the first Black woman to serve as U.S. president.
“Well, you know what they supposedly said?” Jackson is quoted as saying. “She’s not Black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian.”
The author explained that she corrected Jackson, clarifying that while Harris has Indian heritage, she is also Black.
“[Harris’] father’s white,” Jackson replied. “That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”
The pop icon’s comments drew sharp criticism from comedian D.L. Hughley, who took to social media to criticize Jackson’s physical appearance, comparing her to a white woman.
“#JanetJacksons interview sounded like a #Trump rally! FYI!! It’s a little ironic to question whether someone is Black while you’re breathing through the nose of a white woman!” Hughley posted on his X account on Sept. 22.
His remarks sparked outrage among Black X users, as one woman noted, “Tearing down an ACTUAL black woman in defense of someone masquerading as one is crazy work.”
Another X user added, “DL Hughley will do anything to get a “pat on the head” from racist #WhiteDemocrats.”
A third person commented, “You are pathetic. I expect nothing less from a man who didn’t believe his own daughter when she told you she was being abused.”

I can agree that Janet Jackson is too rich & intelligent to do an interview repeating unfounded stuff but why do you feel the need to insult her appearance? Just say she was out of line & move on. This is why normal non-political people like me hate democrats & republicans. Y’all…

Per her father, he is Indian and Irish that was BORN in Jamaica. He himself doesn’t acknowledge any Blackness. Are you saying that her father is denying his Ethnicity AND race?
