*Sarah Jakes, the daughter of Bishop T.D. Jakes, shared an update on his health following a recent medical emergency during his Sunday sermon.
As we reported earlier, Bishop Jakes experienced a medical episode during his sermon at The Potter’s House in Dallas on Sunday morning (Nov. 24). While addressing the congregation and livestream audience, he suddenly stopped speaking and began to tremble, prompting immediate assistance from those nearby. The livestream cut off shortly after the incident.
A video of the event has since circulated widely, though the church has not disclosed details about the nature of the health scare. In a statement shared on Instagram, they assured the public that he is stable and receiving medical care.
Jakes’ church, the Potter’s House of Dallas, also shared a statement on Instagram: “During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour long message. Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.”
TMZ reports that Bishop Jakes has received an outpouring of support following the concerning medical issue. Well-wishes have flooded in from across the globe, including messages from parishioners, organizations, media outlets, world leaders, and celebrities.
In a message shared on social media, Sarah and her husband explained, “Hey family, I know today’s been an interesting day for us, But we didn’t want to lay down without giving you all an update about how everything is going with Bishop.”
The couple added, “Obviously today could have been a tragic day. But it wasn’t by mercy of God, by the grace of God. Bishop is doing well. He’s recovering well. He’s under medical care. He’s strong. We’re trying to get him to sit down. He’s the strong Bishop that we know.”
“I’m so grateful that he’s already beginning to improve and I think it’s just a reminder even going into this holiday season week to love on the people who you hold near and dear and just take the time to be grateful for all the people God’s given you,” she continued.
