*Kirsten Corley, Chance The Rapper’s wife, has officially filed for divorce after five years of marriage.
According to TMZ, the filing took place on December 13, following their announcement of separation in April. The couple, who share two young daughters, Kensli and Marli, have not disclosed details about child or spousal support.
Chance and Kirsten married in 2019 at a star-studded ceremony and had been dating since 2013. Despite their separation, they previously stated their intention to co-parent their children together.
“After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together,” the pair said in a statement posted on Instagram in April.
They added, “God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition.”

In the days leading up to their 2019 wedding, Chance took to social media to recall the moment he first laid eyes on Kirsten.
In a note posted to social media, the hip-hop star described attending his mother’s office party when he was 9-years-old, where he watched a trio of little girls perform “Independent Women” by Destiny’s Child.
“Now I’m locking eyes wth the prettiest girl I ever seen in my almost-a-decade of life on earth,” he described. “I really shouldn’t even say locked eyes cause really, I was just staring at her; as she and her girls were conquering this choreography and mastering the art of lip-synching in a way even the most professional performers have yet to accomplish.”
While his father encouraged him to dance with them, Chance decided it “wasn’t the time or place.”
“I knew I was gonna marry that girl. And I ain’t wanna jump the gun,” he wrote. “16 years later it’s happening. This [weekend] is the time, and the place is my wedding. I’m gonna dance with my wife because this is my destiny.”
