After Hosting Emmys, Anthony Anderson Wants Oscars Job – Meanwhile, Emmys Hit Ratings Low | VIDEO

*After hosting the 75th Primetime Emmys on Monday, Anthony Anderson told TMZ he’s ready to host the Oscars next.

Watch Anderson gush about the potential gig in the clip above. Meanwhile, ratings for the 2024 Emmy Awards hit a record-low this year, according to Variety

Per the outlet, the ceremony “delivered an audience of 4.3 million total viewers and a 0.85 rating among Adults 18-49,” Variety writes, adding, “For comparison, the 2022 show hosted by Keenan Thompson on NBC drew 5.9 million total viewers — which was the most recent record for the awards show.”

We reported earlier via CNN that “The Bear” and “Succession” were the biggest winners, picking up six Emmy awards each during the broadcast, including best comedy and best drama, respectively.

Meanwhile, Kevin Hart said he won’t host the Oscars again because award shows “aren’t comedy-friendly environments anymore,” he said in a new interview.

“Whatever little hope you had, I want to destroy it right now. Those gigs aren’t good gigs for comics,” Hart told Sky News.

“It’s no shot to the Oscars, no shot to the Globes or anything else. Those just aren’t comedy-friendly environments anymore. I think they got it right one year where it was like just a bunch of personalities acting as the hosts and that’s a nice thing,” he continued.

“It’s a collaborative thing, different people get to be responsible for act one, act two, act three, but you know, the days of it being a room for a comic, those days are done,” the comedian explained.

“Shout out to those that have cracked the code and done it right early on, you know, the Chris Rock of the world, the Billy Crystals of the world, the girls we’ve had like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler. Ricky Gervais,” Hart said of the slew of comedians who have successfully hosted the Oscars ceremony.

In 2019, Hart was tapped to host the 2019 Oscars, but when his old homophobic tweets resurfaced, he stepped down from the gig.
