*“The Daily Show” is set to return this month with a star-studded lineup of guest hosts following the departure of longtime host Trevor Noah.

The late-night Comedy Central program announced that comedian Leslie Jones will kick things off on Tuesday, Jan. 17. As Urban Hollywood reports, the first round of guest hosts also include Wanda Sykes, D.L. Hughley, Chelsea Handler, and Sarah Silverman. The search for a permanent host is still underway.

Correspondents and contributors on “The Daily Show” are also “set to host with additional details to be announced,” Comedy Central previously confirmed in a statement.

Noah announced his Daily Show departure in September, telling fans and viewers in a video statement: “There are so many people who make this thing come together, and I want to say thank you to the audience for an amazing seven years,” he said, PEOPLE reports.

“It’s been wild. I remember when we first started, so many people didn’t believe in us. It was a crazy bet to make. I still think it was a crazy choice… What a journey it’s been,” he continued.

In his final broadcast in December, Noah bid an emotional farewell to loyal viewers and thanked the Black women in his life for being a guiding force.

“I’ve often been credited with having these grand ideas — people are like, ‘Oh Trevor, you’re so smart’ — and I’m like, ‘Who do you think teaches me? Who do you think has shaped me, nourished me, informed me,’ you know?” Noah said as he went on to praise his mom, grandmother, aunts, and Black women who have had a great impact on his life,” Noah said.

“I always tell people, if you truly want to learn about America, talk to Black women because unlike everybody else, Black women can’t afford to f— around and find out,” a visibly emotional Noah added.

“This has been an honor. Thank you,” he told the audience.

When the rotating guest hosts takeover, Leslie Jones will lead from Jan. 17 to Jan. 19, Comedy Central announced on social media. Sykes will host the show from Jan. 23 to Jan. 26 and then Hughley will takeover from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2. Chelsea Handler will lead from Feb. 6 to Feb. 9 followed by Sarah Silverman from Feb. 13 to Feb. 16.

Al Franken, John Leguizamo, Hasan Minhaj, Kal Penn, Marlon Wayans, Roy Wood Jr., and others will also be filling in.

“The Daily Show” airs weeknights at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central and also streams on Paramount+.
