*A slew of celebrities have been tapped to guest host Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” after longtime host Trevor Noah departs this week.

The network has revealed that Al Franken, Chelsea Handler, D. L. Hughley, Leslie Jones, John Leguizamo, Hasan Minhaj, Kal Penn, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes and Marlon Wayans will fill in starting Tuesday, January 17th, CNN reports

Correspondents and contributors on “The Daily Show” are also “set to host with additional details to be announced,” per Comedy Central.

“As we enter Trevor’s final week, we want to thank him for his many contributions,” said Chris McCarthy, president/CEO of Paramount Media Networks, according to the network statement, CNN reports.

Noah announced his Daily Show departure in September, telling fans and viewers in a video statement: “There are so many people who make this thing come together, and I want to say thank you to the audience for an amazing seven years,” he said, PEOPLE reports.

“It’s been wild. I remember when we first started, so many people didn’t believe in us. It was a crazy bet to make. I still think it was a crazy choice… What a journey it’s been,” he continued.

“It’s something that I never expected, and I found myself thinking throughout the time, everything we’ve gone through — the Trump presidency, the pandemic, just the journey, the more pandemic,” Noah added. “And I realized that after these seven years, my time is up. But in the most beautiful way, honestly.”

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the South African comedian said his own representatives were not aware he would announce his exit when he did.

“Part of the reason I did it that way is because I didn’t want anybody to be the person who then tells somebody else, who then tells somebody else, who then tells somebody else… so for me, it felt like the most natural way to tell everybody at the same time,” said Noah.

He went on to say that after the COVID lockdown and strict restrictions during the pandemic, once he returned to the studio, taping “The Daily Show” “wasn’t as much fun anymore,” Noah said.

Noah’s final show airs on 8 December, after that, he will kick off his worldwide Off The Record Tour, starting in the US on January 20 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, The Blast reports.
