*Subway found a way to draw eyes to its new Deli Hero sandwich by announcing it would give $50,000 worth of them to one lucky customer if he or she agrees to legally change their first name to “Subway.”

The contest was open online for only four days, from August 1 to August 4, at SubwayNameChange.com. So far, the sandwich chain has yet to announce a winner. The contest was open to any adult who agreed to the name change if randomly selected. The company said it would reimburse the winner for legal and processing costs connected with the name change.

The winner must undergo a background check and provide Subway with proof of the name change within four months of accepting the prize, which will be awarded in the form of $50,000 in Subway gift cards.

Subway debuted its Deli Hero sandwich earlier this month, featuring cold cuts that are sliced on-site at restaurants rather than pre-portioned.  In preparation for the Deli Hero collection, the chain underwent a two year, $80 million overhaul that included installing deli meat slicers in over 20,000 restaurants.

It was “one of the most complex changes the brand has ever made,” Subway stated, adding that it has sold more than two million Deli Heroes since its debut.
