*Preacher Lawson’s new TV special is packed with clever punchlines and comedic star power. EURweb joined the audience at Burbank’s Colony Theatre where Preacher Lawson flexed his comedic muscles. The occasion was his second comedy special.
It is a feast of rapid-fire storytelling, hilarious characterizations, and crafty showmanship. Preacher Lawson rose to national attention on the 12th season of America’s Got Talent. Although the gifted comic only ranked as a finalist, he returned to the championship competition and took 5th place.
Peacher is a storyteller, a physical comic, and a social commentator. His routines cover the narrative of his life. First, he provides a comedic defense of his name. Then he glides through various cultural experiences while bouncing through the twenty cities that he lived in by the time he was ten.
Of all of his domiciles, he most refers to Portland (his birth city) and Memphis, Tennessee. His teen years found him in Orlando, Florida.
Once he started writing and performing comedy, it was evident that he had found his true calling.
By 2019, Preacher Lawson had competed on America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent where he landed in the finals. His first special appeared on BET+ and the next one is on the way!
Preacher is a chameleon as a solo performer. The audience is his passengers as he takes them on the hilarious journey of his life.
Meet the knuckleheads who teased him about his name, the nerds who questioned him about his hair, and find out why he could never be a gangster.
