*A sailor who was lost at sea for 24 days is speaking out about his ordeal and surviving only on ketchup soup.

As Vibe reports, Elvis Francois, 47, was rescued by Colombia’s navy after a plane spotted the word “help” written on his boat near Colombia’s Puerto Bolivar.

“I had no food,” Francois said in a video the navy shared. “It was just a bottle of ketchup that was on the boat, garlic powder and Maggi (stock cubes) so I mixed it up with some water.”

Francois further explained that he was working on his boat near the Dutch section of Saint Martin in December 2022 when brutal weather pulled the vessel into the sea. He was unable to navigate back to the shore and continued to drift for nearly a month.

Francois was ultimately saved and transported to Cartagena where he receive medical care. He was then taken to immigration authorities to be reunited with his family in Dominica, according to Vibe.
