*A video of a San Francisco art gallery owner standing outside his gallery, gripping the garden hose while spraying a homeless woman went viral, sparking an angry backlash against the sprayer, later identified as Collier Gwin.

The homeless woman is seen seated on the sidewalk in front of the gallery, seeming to mind her own business. As Gwin sprays her, she screams for him to stop but he tells her to move down the block. The video soon went viral (scroll down to watch).

The public generally demanded that Gwin be arrested to face some type of punishment, but the police initially said both parties chose not to pursue criminal charges. However, Gwin was finally arrested on Wednesday, with the District Attorney, Brooke Jenkins, terming his actions “completely unacceptable.”

Jenkins stated that the police decided to arrest Gwin after reviewing all the evidence.

“The alleged battery of an unhoused member of our community is completely unacceptable. Mr. Gwin will face appropriate consequences for his actions,” she explained.

She also stood with Gwin who, it turns out, was angered by acts of vandalism in his gallery.

“Likewise, the vandalism at Foster Gwin gallery is also completely unacceptable and must stop — two wrongs do not make a right,” the District Attorney added.

The culprit was taken into police custody on an arrest warrant and charged with misdemeanor battery he committed outside his Foster Gwin Gallery on January 9.
