*Jada Pinkett Smith is speaking out about her marriage to Will Smith and journey to “self-acceptance” in a new interview with People.

She also shared her reaction to the infamous Oscars slap at the Academy Awards in 2022, when her husband assaulted comedian Chris Rock on stage after Rock cracked a joke about Jada’s shaved head.

“I thought, ‘This is a skit,’ ” she said of the moment, People reports. “I was like, ‘There’s no way that Will hit him. It wasn’t until Will started to walk back to his chair that I even realized it wasn’t a skit.”

When they were alone after the show, she asked Will, “Are you okay? ”

Pinkett Smith further unpacks the aftermath of the slap in her new book “Worthy,” out Oct. 17.

Her new book also gives fans a glimpse of her harrowing childhood in Baltimore, her parents’ substance abuse issue, and her suicide attempt.

“When I turned 40, I was in so much pain. I couldn’t figure a way out besides death. So I made a plan,” she told People.

According to Jada, there was a point when she suffered from “a massive amount of depression.”

“I think that I looked at having outside sources to supplement for the voids that I was feeling inside.”

She said “voices” were telling her to “kill yourself. You’re not worth anything, you ain’t s—.’ ” So, she began planning her death.

“I started looking for places, cliffs where I could have an accident, because I didn’t want my kids to think that their mother had committed suicide.”

Pinkett Smith’s healing ultimately came through an ayahuasca ceremony, “where a leader supplies a plant-based psychedelic drug, usually brewed into a tea to drink, and guides the subject through hallucinations,” People writes.

“Ayahuasca helped me, it gave me a new intimate relationship with myself that I had never had before.”

As People reports, Jada claims “the suicidal thoughts completely went away” after taking the drug.

The former “Red Table Talk” host will go on a cross-country “Worthy Book Tour” in October. Check out the dates via the Instagram embed below.
