Eminem Takes Legal Action Against Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon Over ‘Shady’ Podcast

*Eminem is taking legal action again “Real Housewives of Potomac” stars Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon over their podcast Reasonably Shady

Dixon and Bryant launched the podcast in 2021. About a year later, they filed to trademark the podcast name for use on products and merchandise, according to the Patent and Trademark Office.

The podcast features conversations about being fearless women as they recount stories from their exciting lives. Topics include dating, relationships, and marriage, per iHeart.

According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, Eminem filed an opposition against Dixon and Bryant’s trademark application for use of the term “Shady.”

Per the docs, the rapper (born Marshall Mathers) makes clear that he has long been known by his Slim Shady and Shady monikers. Eminem also owns the trademark to use the terms on merch and his records.

He believes the Reasonably Shady podcast could cause “confusion” and damage his brand.

“The marks Slim Shady and Shady have become and are an extremely valuable symbol of Mathers, his reputation and goodwill,” the legal doc reads.

Meanwhile, Em was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November. During his acceptance speech, he revealed how he nearly died from an overdose in 2007.

“I almost died from an overdose in 2007, which kind of sucked. Hailie, plug your ears: because drugs were f—ing delicious, and I thought we had a good thing going man, but I had to go and f— it all up and take too many. God damn. OK Hailie,” he said, referring to his daughter. 

Meanwhile, we reported previously that Eminem and 50 Cent are working on an “8 Mile” television series that will chronicle Em’s early years.

“I think it should be there for his legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it,”  50 Cent said during an appearance on BigBoyTV.
