*Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs announced this week that his first solo album in years was titled “The Love Album: Off the Grid” will drop next month.
The hip-hop mogul released a documentary-style trailer to accompany the news, featuring Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, and Mary J. Blige, People reports.
“I present to you my new album. The Love Album: Off the Grid,” Diddy, 53, wrote alongside the trailer on Instagram, along with the project’s Sept. 15 release date. “R&B is alive!” he added.
“Why am I doing this? Especially with the success that I’ve had, especially where my life is, how stressful and treacherous this music industry is. Why would I just come back in here and have to do something that I don’t have to do?” asks Diddy in the clip. “My heart has been broken. I’ve still got that question of, like, ‘Am I ever gonna love again?'”
The video features Diddy with Yung Miami from City Girls, his late ex-girlfriend Kim Porter, and his 10-month-old daughter Love Sean Combs, whom he shares with Dana Tran.
Several of Diddy’s A-list peers are also featured in the trailer, including Swae Lee, Jozzy, French Montana, DJ Khaled, Teyana Taylor, 21 Savage and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds.
“The Love Album: Off the Grid” will be Diddy’s first solo album since “Press Play” in 2006.
In related news, we reported earlier that Combs has launched an online marketplace for Black-owned businesses and brands.
The e-commerce platform is called Empower Global and according to a news release, the service “allows consumers to discover and buy products exclusively created and sold by Black entrepreneurs.”
“My mission has always been to empower Black entrepreneurs and create more opportunities for them to access the resources, tools and support needed to build successful businesses,” said Sean “Diddy” Combs, Chairman Combs Global.
