*Multiple blood clots were successfully removed from Deion Sanders’ thigh and below his knee on Friday.

The Colorado Buffaloes head football coach had the procedure in order to “have proper blood flow to the leg,” Sanders explained in updates shared with fans on social media. The operation occurred at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, Sports Illustrated reports.

Coach Prime shared a video post showing him briefing his four children via video call.

“I told them I had a big blood clot in my thigh that they got out,” Sanders said. “I had some below my knee they got out. I got one in the right leg they’re going to get soon.”

Prior to the surgery, Sanders shared a video from a recent doctor’s appointment on Instagram where he revealed he has a serious foot problem, The Spun reports.

He explained in the clip that the bottom of his foot which had two toes previously amputated no longer has feeling.

“As you know I’ve faced some medical challenges with my foot but I’ve never said “WHY ME” – I keep moving forward, progressing . . . See you never know what a person may be going through while I sit in your seat of judgement but you can trust and believe that we are all going through something – just keep the faith and know that if He brought you tit, He will bring you through it,” Sanders wrote on Instagram.

After fans expressed concern about his medical setback, Sanders shared another video update to set the record straight, saying, “I met with my doctors a week ago, got hammer toes in two toes, and they want to straighten those out,” the former Jackson State head coach explained.

“I’m not receiving enough blood flow in order to do that surgery and another surgery to fix the dislocation of the foot, as well. So this is where we are now. There is no talk of amputation. There’s no talk of any of that whatsoever. The doctors were just telling me worse come to worse, this was going to happen, but I believe in staying right so we never have to take that left,” he added.

Tracey Edmonds, Sanders’ fiancée, wrote on social media following Friday’s surgery, “We are so grateful for the healing power of God and for all of our prayer Warriors. It was a long but successful day!  He is resting and doing great tonight after his surgery!  Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Fam! We love you!”

According to multiple reports, Sanders will take a break before returning to work at the University of Colorado.
