Cast of ‘American Auto’ Talk Season 2 of Comedy Series | EUR Video Exclusive

*We caught up with the cast of “American Auto,” to dish on the exciting second season which kicked off in January.

The workplace comedy series follows the employees of Detroit-based Payne Motors, who are led by a CEO who knows little about cars.

“I think she comes from Big Pharma. She’s an experienced CEO. She’s got leadership and management experience. She’s just one of those leaders that doesn’t particularly think you need to know your product to sell it,” said series star Ana Gasteyer (Suburgatory) in a 2022 interview with NPR about her character Katherine Hastings.

Gasteyer stars along with Jon Barinholtz (Superstore), Harriet Dyer (Love Child), Humphrey Ker (Mythic Quest), Michael Benjamin Washington (Ratched), as Cyrus Knight, Payne’s Chief Product Designer, Tye White (Greenleaf) as Jack Fortin, a former assembly-line employee brought in to help in the C-suite who is like a counselor to Hastings and X Mayo (Finding ‘Ohana) as Dori, Hastings’ assistant and a social media addict.

“What I like about workplace comedies is you have people that don’t necessarily want to be together, that have very different backgrounds, very different interests, and they’re forced to spend lots of time together in often not the most ideal space,” series creator Justin Spitzer said in a 2021 interview. “That’s every element you want for conflict, which is what you want as a storyteller.”
