*There’s a new comedy series on the horizon starring some of Hollywood’s funniest ladies.

Tisha Campbell, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Kym Whitley have all teamed up to bring viewers a new sitcom titled “Act Your Age.” The cast came together at The London Hotel in Los Angeles earlier this week to celebrate the release of the series and dish on what viewers can expect from this show that has been described as a modern-day “Golden Girls.”

“It’s really monumental for us,” Campbell said. “It’s almost like a modern-day ‘Golden Girls.’ We get to share our lives in our second half with everybody. My crazy behind and my character is kind of similar; I think.”

The series sees Whitley, Brown, and Campbell as three real-life friends and “successful women in their 50’s who are each at a personal crossroads and who decide the best way forward in life is together,” a press release states.

“My real-life friends, to be able to go to work every day with your friends is insane,” Whitley said of her co-stars. “Like an experience I’ve never had before.”

Brown noted that this is her first time starring in a series full-time.

“This is the first time that I’ve actually been an actual lead on a show,” Brown said. “I’m usually supporting. This is the first time I get to have stories that are about me. Kym and Tisha get to have stories that are about them. Not about the men they’re married to or the men they’re dating. So we get to be leads for the first time and it’s really exciting; we get to do it together where we’re all actually friends in real life and you’ll see that on the show.”

Showrunner Alyson Fouse was also in attendance to celebrate the premiere of the series.

“This show means everything to me,” Fouse said. “Because it’s not often that people want a show with women of this age and black women on top of that. So the opportunity to relate and show our lives and just have fun enjoying the show is really what I appreciate and love about it.”

Other members of the cast for “Act Your Age” includes Loretta Devine, Nate Anderson, Ratoya Banks, and Mariah Robinson.

“I love the ladies that are on it so much,” Devine said. “I hope it’s a great success for them.”

“Act Your Age” premieres on Bounce TV on March 4th. More footage of the premiere release screening can be seen below.
