*Albert Jones Jr., a utility worker in Winter Park, Florida, has gone viral after he was filmed singing “His Eye is On the Sparrow” to an elderly woman in quarantine from outside her assisted living facility.
The heart-melting moment, which has gone viral, took place as Jones was doing work replacing a gas line in the area. Jones told Orlando’s Fox35 that he was minding how own business when he saw the woman and her caregiver in his peripheral vision and felt “a spiritual pull’ towards her. The woman’s daughter was dancing for her mom outside of the gate, trying to connect with her through the challenge of social distancing.
Jones said he saw the woman dancing, she ended up asking him to sing for her mom. Jones told Fox35 that the pastor of his church, “instilled in me to carry your light wherever you go.”
So he did just that.
From a safe social distance, Jones stood outside the gate and sang “His Eye is On The Sparrow” to the woman as she held onto her caretaker’s hand and watched without moving. Jennifer Mattingly Brown, who filmed the moment and posted it to her Facebook page on Friday, wrote in the caption: “A nearby utility worker came to sing for a resident at Alabama Oaks when he saw her and the caregiver outside. The sweetest EVER!! Beautiful voice too.”
