Looter Shot Dead by Pawn Shop Owner Amid George Floyd Protest + BLM Protest in LA [VIDEO]

*The owner of a pawn shop in Minneapolis shot and killed a man he claims was a looter, but police say they are investigating the shooter’s side of events.

The report comes as demonstrators continue to rock  the streets of Minneapolis after the death of George Floyd, who was murdered by a member of the police force on Memorial Day during his arrest for suspicion of forgery. A woman on the scene filmed the incident, showing Floyd handcuffed and on the ground with Officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on the back of his neck, and pleading: “Please, I can’t breathe.”

Four officers at the scene were fired, but for many, that isn’t good enough, as we are now in day 2 of protests in the city over Floyd’s death.

Minneapolis Department Police Chief John Elder confirmed that one person was shot and killed at the Cadillac Pawn & Jewelry Wednesday night, and another person is being held in custody, per Daily Mail.

The body of the victim was found lying on the sidewalk outside the store by officers who performed CPR on him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A graphic video circulating on social media appears to show the aftermath outside Cadillac Pawn — watch it below:

In videos shared across social media, stores including Wendy’s, Target, Walmart and AutoZone have been ransacked and some set ablaze, including what appears to be an apartment building.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people took to the streets through downtown Los Angeles in a Black Lives Matter protest over Floyd’s death.

The march forced the shut down of the 101 Freeway near downtown, and reports of violent confrontations with police include an incident involving a man riding on top of a CHP car attempting to flee a crowd hurling objects at officers. The man falls off the vehicle and appears to hit his head on the ground. Video shows a crowd gathering around his motionless body.

In response to all the violence, Floyd’s fiancée, Courteney Ross, wants Black folks to respond to his lynching in a way that honors him.

“You can’t fight fire with fire. Everything just burns, and I’ve seen it all day, people hate, they’re hating, they’re hating, they’re mad. And he would not want that. He wouldn’t, he wouldn’t, he wouldn’t. He would give grace. I stand on that today. He would still give grace to those people,” she said.

She is also calling on forgiveness (*insert eyeroll*) for the cop who murdered Floyd.

“You know, if he was here, he would say that he’s a man of God. He would stand on that firmly,” Ross said.

“He stood up for people, he was there for people when they were down, he loved people that were thrown away,” she added. “We prayed over every meal, we prayed if we were having a hard time, we prayed if we were having a good time.”
