*The last NFL team to integrate has this morning become the first in the league to hire an African American as team president.

The Washington Football Team (its temporary name after dropping the racist “Redskins” moniker last month) has hired Jason Wright to replace Bruce Allen as the new team president. The appointment makes Wright both the first Black person and the youngest to hold such a position.

Wright, who played for seven years in the NFL and most recently worked at management consultant firm McKinsey & Company in D.C., said he looks forward to transforming the team’s culture, operations and branding, adding, “I’ve been watching this team with interest long before I knew I could become part of it. I believe in Dan Snyder’s vision for this organization and I am looking forward to partnering with Coach [Ron] Rivera. Together we will define the future of the Washington Football Team.”

Here are several videos of Wright from earlier this year discussing a variety of topics, including, “How To Fix The Great Employment Divide In Corporate America,” and “Investing in Black Livelihoods.”
