WE REMEMBER: Rapper Bushwick Bill (Geto Boys) Has Died from Pancreatic Cancer. He was 52

*Unfortunately, we now have the official confirmation of Geto Boys rapper Bushwick Bill‘s death. He died Sunday evening (06-09-19) from stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was 52.

His son, Javon, according to TMZ, said Bill’s final words were, “I will love you forever.”

His publicist says plans are underway for a public memorial.

The Geto Boys had been planning to do one last tour with the three original members (Bill, Scarface and Willie D.). Ironically, the tour would’ve been called “The Beginning of a Long Goodbye: The Final Farewell.” But in the end, the tour was later canceled because of Bushwick Bill’s unwillingness to have his cancer diagnosis exploited, reports TheWrap.

Bushwick Bill, whose real name was Richard Shaw, became a member of the Geto Boys in the late ’80s. He was originally a dancer named Little Billy. By the early ’90s, they helped put Houston onthe map as from a hip hop/rap standpoint. As far as his right eye is concerned, In 1991, he shot himself in that eye during an argument with his girlfriend. His injury was immortalized on the cover of the group’s 1991 album, “We Can’t Be Stopped.”

*Unfortunately, it’s not looking good for Bushwick Bill. The Geto Boys rapper’s time appears to be very limited ias he battling pancreatic cancer.

In spite of pronouncements on social media that he had passed, the extremely ill rapper’s publicist told TMZ that he is “still alive and fighting cancer” in a hospital. She says she spoke to hospital staff to confirm, and says some of Bill’s family members are by his hospital bedside right now. Others are on their way.

As for why so many of Bill’s friends, including Scarface, are posting that he’s passed — the publicist says someone got incorrect information which is spreading like wildfire.

As we reported earlier, Bushwick Bill was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in February. It was last month that he confirmed was undergoing intensive chemotherapy, and had hoped to get back on the road.

Bushwick Bill, Scarface and Willie D became the Geto Boys in Houston back in 1988 and signed with J. Prince‘s Rap-A-Lot Records.

Another celeb stricken with a life threatening medical condition. We’ve just learned that Bushwick Bill, a co-founder of the of the Texas rap group, Geto Boys, is dealing with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

“It was just crazy to find out that Pancreatic cancer isn’t detected until it’s in the fourth or fifth stage,” Bushwick said. “I’ve been keeping it to myself but I’m getting ready to tell Scarface, Willie D and I’ve only told close family members.”
