the real crew - table

*On Tuesday, May 14, The Real welcomes back guest host Yvette Nicole Brown for Girl Chat! The ladies discuss Yvette’s recent appearance in Avengers: Endgame and how long a spoiler window should be. (Co-host Tamera Mowry-Housley has some opinions when it comes to Game of Thrones!)

And the hosts talk about the college admissions scandal and Felicity Huffman’s decision to plead guilty to her role in it, wondering how much time she’ll actually serve and if the system works for everyone equally.

And then the ladies make good on their promise to Yvette from a few months ago – they are sending her to the opening night of Janet Jackson’s Metamorphosis residency this weekend! But there’s more – Miss Jackson sends along a special gift and note to her biggest fan!

Later, actor Mark Dacascos visits to talk about his role in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and recounts his worst on-set injuries!

How Long Should A Spoiler Window Be?

The Hosts Fulfill Their Promise To Send Yvette Nicole Brown To Meet Her Idol – And  More!

But Really, How Much Jail Time Will Felicity Huffman Actually Do?

But Really, How Much Jail Time Will Felicity Huffman Actually Do?

Adrienne Houghton: She’s probably going to be sentenced to four months, but in reality, she’s probably she’s probably only going to do, maybe two months? With good behavior? And that – guys, compared to 40 years, I’m sorry – Lori, you buggin. Cause I’m just keeping it real, real, real – our justice system sucks. And it is not a real justice system, in my opinion…

[The Real audience applauds]

Yvette Nicole Brown: Yeah, but…

Adrienne: It is a negotiating system.

Yvette: Yeah, but it doesn’t suck for people like her…

Adrienne: Yes.

Yvette: So she’s going to roll the dice.

Jeannie Mai: It’s rightfully so. It’s rightfully…

Yvette: Lori’s gonna be fine. She’s gonna be just fine; mark my words, she’s gonna be just fine.

Tamera Mowry-Housley: Her legal team, I think they’re playing a dance. I think they know what they’re doing, and in the end, that’s when she’s going to make a plea. And we all know she’s not going to jail for 40 years.

[The Real audience applauds]

Jeannie: Aunt Becky’s not going to jail for 40 years.

Adrienne: But do you think she’s going to make a plea or do you think they’re going to make an example of her? And prove that she should have taken the plea?

Yvette: No, no no.

Tamera: They’re going to do something.

Yvette: Women like her are not made an example of. They’re not.

Tamera: No, I agree with her.

Loni Love: What you mean, “women like her?”

Yvette: [under her breath] I hate you.

Jeannie: Yeah Loni, don’t you start.

Yvette: No, let me say this – there is – come on you all, let’s not act like we don’t know that there’s a different justice system for some people and a different one for others. Come on now. There are people that have sent –

[The Real audience applauds]

Adrienne: But that’s why I said it’s not justice.

Yvette: There are people that have sent their children to stay with their Grandma so their kid can go to a better public school and they are serving long time right now.

Adrienne: Ridiculous.

[The Real audience applauds]

Yvette: So let’s be very real about what this is. Now hey.

Adrienne: 100%.

Jeannie: And it’s real ironic we’re talking about Aunt Becky.

Adrienne: That’s why I said it sucks.

Yvette: It sucks! It sucks that – and I want to say this about Felicity – I don’t know her personally, I just know her socially – I do think that what she did was wrong, but I do give her props for at least saying “I did it.”

Adrienne: Right?

[The Real audience applauds]

Jeannie: No, beyond props. Beyond props.

Yvette: Something about – I mean, she was like, “I did it.”
