Prince’s Temporary Estate Managers Stumble upon Musical Treasure

*It seems Prince fans may be getting access to unreleased music sooner rather than later. After the music legend’s untimely passing last week, Prince’s estate is now being managed temporarily by Minnesota’s Bremer Trust Company. Representatives from Bremer Trust recently stumbled across an unopened, private vault in Prince’s home. According to ABC News affiliate KSTP-TV, the vault was drilled open to reveal musical gold.

In a 2012 interview on The View, Prince told of a vault that contained an enormous assembling of unreleased material.

“One day, someone will release them,” he said of the hidden stash. “I don’t know that I’ll get to release them.”

Susan Roger, Prince’s past recording engineer told Good Morning America the amount of music in the vault is enough to “put out more work in a month than most people could in a year.”

ABC News obtained documents signed by Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson stating she “does not know of the existence of a will” and she has “no reason to believe that the decedent executed testamentary documents in any form.”

According to state law, Prince’s estate will be divided between Nelson and Prince’s five half-siblings. Further details on the release of Prince’s new-found music have yet to be released.

Prince Rogers Nelson was found dead April 21 at his Paisley Park home in Chanhassen, Minnesota. As one of the most masterful and innovative musicians of modern times, he is known for a string of hit songs, including “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Little Red Corvette,” “Adore,” “When Doves Cry” and so much more. The singer released 39 studio albums and a plethora of musical projects. He was 57 years of age.

Thus far, no details regarding Prince’s cause of death have been released, but prior to his passing, he postponed an April 7 concert in Atlanta stating he had fallen ill with the flu; once on the mend he apologized to fans and treated them to a makeup concert.
