Tyrese Gibson Arrested and Booked Over Dog Attack Incident
*It’s shaping up not to be a good day for actor/singer Tyrese Gibson. He was booked into Fulton County Jail early this morning (10-03-25). The arrest follows a fatal dog attack involving his Cane Corsos that killed a neighbor’s pet.
The 46-year-old star of “Fast & Furious” and “Transformers” faces a misdemeanor charge of cruelty to animals. He turned himself in at 5:59 a.m. and was released hours later on $20,000 bond.
Neighbor’s Dog Mauled in Buckhead Neighborhood
The tragic incident happened on September 18 in Atlanta’s Buckhead area. Harrison Parker let his dog Henry, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, into a fenced yard.
Moments later, he found the dog dead with multiple injuries.
Surveillance footage showed Gibson’s Cane Corsos roaming near the area. A neighbor called 911, saying she couldn’t exit her car because of the aggressive dogs.

Gibson’s Dogs Had Prior Complaints
Fulton County Animal Services had received five previous complaints about Gibson’s dogs roaming loose. Officers issued multiple warnings, including one just hours before the attack.
Gibson was reportedly aware of the ongoing issues. When he failed to turn over the animals by September 22, a search and arrest warrant was issued.
Police Respond, Cite Ongoing Community Risk
Police arrived to execute the warrant but found neither Gibson nor the dogs at the home. Captain Nicole Dwyer said, “Large dogs getting out and killing an animal—what’s next? A child?”
She stressed the importance of responsible pet ownership, especially with powerful breeds like Cane Corsos.
Tyrese Issues Public Statement on Instagram
Following the arrest, Gibson posted on Instagram saying the incident left him “heartbroken.” He shared a tribute video of his dogs but offered no caption.
His lawyer confirmed that two adult dogs and three puppies have been rehomed “for safety reasons.” Gibson is reportedly cooperating fully with the investigation.
Legal Outcome Could Impact Gibson’s Future
If convicted, Gibson could face up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. His court date is pending.
The case has reignited concerns about large dog breeds in urban neighborhoods, especially when previous complaints go unresolved.
