*Netflix has released the trailer for the second chapter of “Stranger Things” Season 5, which premieres on Christmas Day with three highly anticipated episodes.
The teaser promises suspense and action as the Hawkins gang races to confront the town’s darkest secrets. A central focus of Volume 2 is Will’s mysterious new abilities, unveiled at the conclusion of Volume 1. The trailer closes with the villain Vecna, ominously declaring it’s time for a “new world,” setting up a showdown fans won’t want to miss.
Per Tudum, Ross Duffer, co-creator, explained, “We’ve always known that Will has a connection to Vecna and the Upside Down. In Season 2, we started to delve into it, but one of the earliest ideas in the new season is, ‘What if Will were able to harness this connection and use it against our villains?’ We also felt it very natural to re-center the story on Will. He was the kid who was taken in Season 1, so it felt right for the story to come full circle. If anyone [was] going to be the key to ending Vecna, it needed to be Will.”

Gaten Matarazzo noted that Will’s powers will significantly shift the balance for the Hawkins teens. “I think that puts us on more of [an even] playing field. I’m sure that’s objectively terrifying to Vecna.” Finn Wolfhard (Mike) added, “We have two Elevens.”
The first four episodes of Season 5 are currently streaming on Netflix. Volume 2, featuring three episodes, debuts on Christmas Day, with the season finale dropping on New Year’s Eve. Episodes release at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET. Click here to find out when new episodes arrive in your part of the world. Watch the new trailer above.
