*A disturbing video from a Sansum Clinic location in Santa Barbara has ignited widespread outrage after surfacing over Labor Day weekend. Initially shared on TikTok, the video quickly went viral, showing healthcare workers posing in front of an exam table paper stained with bodily fluids. The post included text describing the stains as “sweet gifts” that “come in all shapes and sizes,” prompting accusations of mocking patients.
The original TikTok video has been deleted. A Reddit post alleged the footage originated at Sutter Health Pesetas Urgent Care, now operated by Sansum Clinic. Public reaction has been swift, with online commenters condemning the staff’s unprofessional conduct and breach of patient privacy. In response, Sutter Health issued a statement addressing the incident and its consequences.
“Sutter Health has terminated the employees responsible for the inappropriate and insensitive photos posted on social media. This unacceptable behavior is an outright violation of our policies, shows a lack of respect for our patients and will not be tolerated,” a Sutter Health spokesperson stated. The organization acted quickly, placing the involved employees on administrative leave within 24 hours of learning about the video and terminating them within another 24 hours as part of an ongoing investigation.

The spokesperson emphasized the clinic’s commitment to patient trust, stating, “Protecting the trust of those we serve is our highest priority and when that trust is violated, we take swift action to address it.”
Sutter Health is reinforcing its policies across the organization to ensure such incidents do not recur. They added, “We expect all team members to live our patients-first mission and uphold the highest standards of compassion, professionalism and respect.”
The terminated employees, including the former staff member who posted the video, are no longer with the clinic. Sutter Health underscored its dedication to high-quality, compassionate care, using the incident as a reminder to strengthen training and compliance with its standards.
