*Prince fans have a new reason to celebrate. “Timeless,” a 10-song collection pulling from the artist’s legendary Vault of unreleased material, is headed their way. The project arrives August 28, through a partnership with Sony’s Legacy Recordings, Variety reports.
The scope of the collection is sweeping. The recordings stretch across nearly four decades, from 1977 to 2016, the year Prince died. Two of the ten tracks are alternate takes on previously released songs, while the remaining eight have never been heard publicly.
A new single accompanies the announcement. “Stone” is a 1995 recording written by Sandra St. Victor, Tom Hammer, and Jules Van Even. The track had never been released until now. The estate had offered an earlier preview with “With This Tear,” a solo Paisley Park recording from November 1991. “Timeless” signals a revival of the estate’s reissue program, which gained momentum in the late 2010s before losing steam.
Fans can experience the project live at Prince Celebration 2026, running June 3 to 7 at Paisley Park and venues across downtown Minneapolis. The event includes listening sessions, archival presentations, and conversations with collaborators. On June 5, The Armory hosts a special night featuring NPG, Bobby Z, Lisa Coleman of The Revolution, and additional guests.
The city is marking the moment as well. Mayor Jacob Frey has declared June 1 to 7 “Prince Celebration Week.” Purple light will wash over the Minneapolis skyline on June 6, the night before Prince’s birthday.
