*Prime Video has announced that “Meal Ticket”, a feature-length documentary highlighting the history of the McDonald’s All American Games, will premiere on March 19. The film is produced by Roc Nation, Known Originals, and Creative Control, and will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Since 1977, the McDonald’s All American Games have served as a proving ground for the next generation of basketball stars. Legends such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Candace Parker, and Shaquille O’Neal first showcased their talents on this iconic court, launching careers in the NBA and WNBA. Per the news release, “Meal Ticket” tells the story of this tradition through the perspectives of the players it has created, the communities it has impacted, and the cultural influence it continues to hold. Production began in 2022 and includes footage from the 2022 and 2023 Games, as well as other historical highlights. Watch the trailer above.

The documentary features interviews with McDonald’s All Americans including Blake Griffin, JJ Redick, Grant Hill, Flau’jae Johnson, Jalen Rose, Seimone Augustus, Patrick Ewing, Dereck Lively II, Candace Parker, Dominique Wilkins, Tracy McGrady, Paul Pierce, Breanna Stewart, Alonzo Mourning, A’ja Wilson, Amar’e Stoudemire, and Chris Mullin. The film also celebrates legendary coaches John Wooden and Morgan Wootten, who helped establish the country’s premier high school all-star basketball showcase.
“Meal Ticket” is directed by first-time filmmakers Carlton Gerard Sabbs and Corey Colvin, produced by Billy Burke, and executive produced by Juan Perez and Lori York of Roc Nation, Ross Martin and Kern Schireson of Known Originals, and Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah of Creative Control. The documentary is a co-production between Prime Video Sports and Known Originals.
Looking ahead, the 2026 McDonald’s All American Games will be held on Tuesday, March 31, at Desert Diamond Arena in Phoenix. The nation’s top 48 high school boys and girls basketball players will take the court for a night of high-level competition.
