*Tonight, the Golden Globes were lit up by sharp-tongued comedian Nikki Glaser, who took on the role of host with her signature sharp wit and biting humor.
Known for her unfiltered style, Glaser didn’t hold back as she made her rounds, poking fun at the nominees, the streaming services, and even hip-hop mogul Diddy on a night that promised laughter amidst the glitz.
Right out of the gate, Glaser offered a tongue-in-cheek commentary on celebrity activism, expressing a playful skepticism about the effectiveness of star power in political endorsements:
The point of making art is to make a tequila brand so popular, that you never have to make art again,” she quipped. This set the stage for her roast-filled journey through the night, where she balanced sharp criticism with film industry accolades.

One of the highlights of the evening was Glaser’s take on Zendaya’s performance in “Challengers.” She made waves with a surprisingly bold joke directed at Diddy.
“That movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card,” she teased, resulting in a gasp from the audience. This was just one of several moments where she toyed with the boundaries of comedic relief and social commentary.
In a night that also incorporated political references, Glaser cleverly likened popular TV shows to a certain political family’s unconventional freezer contents.
“‘The Bear’, ‘The Penguin’, ‘Baby Reindeer’, these are not just things found in RFK’s freezer. These are TV shows nominated tonight!” she said, referencing a notorious political figure with a pointed jab that resonated with the crowd for its audacity.
Glaser’s roasts didn’t spare the actors present, including Timothée Chalamet, whose name she whimsically linked to an Adam Sandler-style sound effect.

Moreover, she playfully teased Chalamet about his striking appearance, saying, “You have the most gorgeous eyelashes on your upper lip.”
However, her jests were not limited to the nominees, as she also took a lighthearted jab at the film “Wicked” — a topic generating buzz this awards season.
“I’m sorry ‘Joker 2’, where’s their table? Oh, they’re not here. That’s right,” Glaser remarked, showcasing a flair for turning the spotlight on missing elements of the evening.
As the festivities continued, the show featured nominees from top talent across the industry.
The anticipation was palpable with “Emilia Pérez” leading the cinematic nominations with ten nods and “The Bear” taking charge in the television category with five.

Additionally, the night featured the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award presented to Viola Davis and the Carol Burnett Award to Ted Danson.
Through comedy, Glaser managed to bridge the glamor of Hollywood with real-world issues and absurdities, resulting in a memorable evening that was both entertaining and enlightening.
Even with all the glitzy moments leading up to the awards, it became clear that while many would leave empty-handed, they were sure to leave with a smile, courtesy of Nikki Glaser’s funny-azz hosting of the Golden Globes.
