*Demand for skilled trade workers continues to rise across the United States. Meta is now moving into that space with a new national training program aimed at closing the gap.
The company announced America’s Workforce Academy, a workforce initiative focused on training electricians, plumbers, welders, fiber technicians and other in-demand trades. Meta says the labor market needs hundreds of thousands of workers across these roles.
Meta plans to invest $115 million in the program during its first year. The company says the academy will train participants for free and place every graduate into a job.

The program also offers structured certification. Graduates will earn credentials from the National Center for Construction Education and Research. They will also receive an America’s Workforce Certificate designed to move with them across employers and industries.
The initiative will start in 2026. Meta selected four pilot states for the rollout: Louisiana, Ohio, Indiana and Texas. The company will test the program in these regions before expanding further.
Meta is partnering with several national and regional organizations to support the launch. These include the National Urban League, Associated Builders and Contractors and CBRE. Other partners include the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, STRIVE, and multiple local chambers of commerce and workforce groups across the pilot states.
The company built the program after earlier demand for its Level-Up training initiative. That program focused on fiber installation and drew 35,000 applications in its first week.
Meta says the new academy expands its workforce efforts and responds to ongoing labor shortages in essential infrastructure trades.
