*Lil Wayne took the stage during SNL 50: The Anniversary Special on February 16, performing a medley of his biggest hits in celebration of the show’s 50th anniversary.
Joined by The Roots, he kicked off with “Uproar,” followed by “Lollipop,” “6 Foot 7 Foot,” “Mrs. Officer,” and wrapped up with “A Milli.” The star-studded event featured numerous celebrities, including Alec Baldwin, Billy Crystal, Cher, Eddie Murphy, Amy Poehler, and many more, all celebrating the iconic sketch show.
Wayne’s performance was particularly notable after his public disappointment about not being selected for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show, a slot that went to Kendrick Lamar.
“It hurt a whole lot,” Wayne, a New Orleans native, said in an Instagram video after Lamar was announced as the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show performer in September.

“I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position,” Weezy added.
“But I thought there was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city, so it hurt,” he continued.
“It made me feel like s— not getting this opportunity,” he shared.
Meanwhile, Skip Bayless revealed that the NFL allegedly apologized to Lil Wayne after choosing Kendrick for the halftime show.
Fans were upset that Wayne was overlooked, especially given his strong ties to the city. Lamar’s performance received mixed reviews, with some calling it one of the worst in Super Bowl history.
Bayless, a close friend of Lil Wayne, previously criticized the NFL for snubbing the rapper and alleged that the league privately apologized to him in September after offering the halftime show slot to Lamar.
“The NFL immediately sent Wayne a letter of apology,” Bayless said on his YouTube show.
According to The US Sun, insiders claim NFL officials “regret” their mistake after choosing Kendrick over Lil Wayne.
“A mistake was made and we regret the choice that was made,” an NFL employee told The U.S. Sun.
“Lil Wayne should have been the first option, as he is from New Orleans and we know that there was a clear motivation for him and his side to do a unique show in his town.”
